Founded in 2000, Oglov Business Development Inc. provides business development services to corporations and other organizations seeking to negotiate to a successful position – be it expanding, funding or diversyfing – as well as business coaching services to individuals.

Typical clients for business development services include corporations considering sponsorship of a major event, or economic development organizations looking to attract new businesses to a region or expand their efforts to do so. Oglov Business Development Inc. works with the company or organization’s objectives to draw up a plan, consider risks and opportunities, and ultimately negotiate to a successful outcome.

Business coaching clients are often individuals who have hit a roadblock in their careers and need to negotiate a way forward in an ongoing role, or consider a new direction as a career transition. Typical clients are executives or senior managers who are facing particular challenges in leading their organizations, or individuals with emerging talent who are dealing with issues that are blocking their progress or perhaps they just need to enhance particular skills.

Linda Oglov

An international consultant and business coach based in Vancouver, Canada, Linda Oglov’s business experience stretches over more than 25 years. Drawing upon a vast array of international experiences and expertise, she has effectively transitioned her own career into an acknowledged expert in business development and business coaching.

On the business development side, Linda recently initiated and led the development of the “Vancouver Green Capital” brand which positions the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, as not only a city with the aim of being the “greenest city in the world by 2020” but also as a viable, attractive place for green enterprises and other sectors to do business. This brand was at the forefront of Vancouver’s economic development strategy during the 2010 Winter Games and will continue going forward towards the 2020 goal.

As a business coach, Linda has been privileged to work with executives in Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain and many other countries. Her clients have brought her a vast array of challenges to work on: managing internal/external relationships, effective communications, moving up the management ladder, the never-ending work-life balance issues and determinng new career directions. While all coaching relationships are confidential, these individuals have come from sectors as varied as communications, marketing, medicine, transportation and interior design.

As a sponsorship and broadcast negotiator, Linda’s blue chip client list has included many of the leading sponsors of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (Bell Canada, RBC Financial, Petro-Canada) and the London 2012 Summer Games (British Telecom, Nortel and others). She now works with sponsors of the Sochi 2014 Winter Games and the Rio 2016 Summer Games. Linda was one of the chief organizers behind Vancouver’s successful win of the rights to host the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. From 2000 - 2004, Linda was Vice President, Marketing for the Vancouver Bid with responsibility for international relations and strategy; raising corporate funds for the bid, as well as developing marketing plans for submission to the International Olympic Committee.

From 1995 to 1998, Linda was based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where she served as Director of API Sponsorship (responsible for sponsorship and broadcast rights) for the 1998 Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games. She also consulted to various National Olympic Committees in Asia. She was Vice President, Marketing for the 1994 Commonwealth Games, Victoria, Canada; Director, Sponsorship and Marketing, National Arts Centre, Ottawa, Canada; and Director, Entertainment Marketing for the 1986 World Exposition in Vancouver, Canada.
Linda has worked as a consultant to several bid committees for major events, including for the Madrid 2016 Olympic Bid; the Halifax (Canada) 2014 Commonwealth Games Bid; and the 2004 Cape Town (South Africa) Summer Games Bid.

Linda is a Certified Executive Coach and holds a master’s level in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University in Victoria, Canada and she is a graduate of the journalism program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Canada.
