NEGOTIATING SUCCESSFUL CONTRACTS - Major Event Sponsorship
While the approach may differ from client to client, the process of becoming the sponsor of a major event typically follows a pattern like this:
- Company is considering sponsorship or is approached by the organizing committee.
- Company approaches Oglov Business Development Inc. for assistance on:
- Assessing the business opportunity: where is our ROI?
- Assessing the marketing opportunity: how could we leverage this involvement? What tier of rights must we have?
- Assessing the cost: how much should we pay? What should be the split of cash and VIK (value in kind)?
- Assessing the rights and benefits being offered: what more could or should we be asking for?
- RFP response or bid to organizing committee, including drafting the marketing rights, contract markup (if required) and reviewing entire submission.
- Advising or directly participating in negotiation strategy.
- Closing the deal: bringing together all parts of the deal and ensuring a successful close and readiness for signing final agreement.
During this time, Linda Oglov becomes a core member of the company’s negotiating team which usually includes senior executives, representatives of marketing, operations, finance and legal departments and outside agencies.Contact: Linda@oglov.com for more details and bookings.
